Bourne DENBY Stoneware VASE – Tubelined Decoration with WINDMILL Design c1925

A finely made Bourne Denby stoneware vase decorated with a tubelined pattern of a windmill on a hill with clouds behind.

This range of pattern was made for a short time from about 1923 with this vase dating to c1925.

Illustrated on page 20 of “Denby Pottery 1809-1997” by Irene & Gordon Hopwood.

Plateelbakkerij Zuid Holland – Dutch Art Nouveau Pottery VASE

An elegant Dutch Gouda Pottery vase by Plateelbakkerij Zuid Holland (known as Plazuid or PZH amongst collectors). It is hand painted with the Westland design by Johan Muller – painted JM monogram on the underside.

Thought to date from c1925.

Full marks on the underside.

Made by the Edward Radford factory in their early 1930s period. Early printed “Burslem” mark on the underside.

A fine looking inter wars period handmade copper plate or card tray decorated with a tinned pattern of a thistleflower head and leaves in an arts and crafts meets art deco style. Stamped HW makers mark on the underside.

Designed by and made in the Altrincham workshop of artist Hugh Wallis (1871-1943)

A lovely original period German arts and crafts hand hammer brass tray or pen dish c1920. Planished surface with raised domed rims.

Stamped “Handarbeit” on the underside.

No monograns or signatures. Maker unknown – to me.

Style of Georg Von Mendelssohn and the artisans associated with the Deutsche Werkstätten in Hellerau, near Dresden, Germany

Mephisopheles Beer Stein attr to S Reich & Co

An impressive glass beer stein with pewter lid.

The glass is press moulded and decorated with a bobbles around the face of the Devil, which is frosted. It is fitted with a pewter hinged lid with a fantastic Goats head finial.

These wares are attributed to the Czech maker, S Reich & Co.

Some surface wear.
Tiny chipping around the pewter mount on the handle – from the making.
Tiny clear glass on edge of face – see pictures.

A classy looking vintage art deco period Poole Pottery table lamp dating to c1935. It has a pleasing moulded shape and decorated with a satin cream coloured glaze.

Not sure which range of designs this is from, possibly “Plane Ware” or “Everest”

A gorgeous piece of British Art Pottery by Edmund Elton 8th Baronet (1846-1920) at his Sunflower Pottery, Clevedon.
