AULT Pottery VASE Aesthetic Movement c1890

A fine looking late Victorian British Art Pottery vase woth a globular shape with moulded three lobed pattern. Decorated with a green glaze and a running red.

Moulded makers marks on the underside.

Although underglaze, there is the HT monogram for Henry Tooth andfacsimile signature for Dr Christpher Dresser. Pattern number seems to read 397.

Usually seen in a smaller version – see bean tin for scale.

13.5cm diameter

Marks –
Moulded on the underside.

Condition –
Crazing to the glaze, some quite coarse.
Small glaze chip on the foot rim and another on the top rim.

MAREI KERAMIK Vintage West German Pottery JUG

A fine looking original vintage West German Pottery jug by Marei Keramik decorated with a textured glaze in mainly white and purple with a incised leaf and berry pattern.

Moulded shape number “7301” on the underside.

This decoration and shape are both distinctive of the maker.

Whitefriars Glass Tumbler Vase

A fine looking vintage art glass vase with a tumbler shape and a interally wavy ribbed pattern. Made in a ruby red colour.

By the British maker, Powell Whitefriars Glass and probably dating to the 1950s.

ART DECO Lady CANDLESTICK c1955

A pair of striking chrome plated candlesticks with kneeling ladies holder the candle sconce. A post war version of the art deco designs. The Lady is reminesant of the the Vargas Girls.

Registered Design number on the underside No8778137 to suggest that this was designed c1955

AESTHETIC Movement Art Pottery Vases

These are a pair of British Art Pottery vase decorated with crimson glazed tops and mottled multi-coloured running glazes.

Dating c1880-1890

Although unmarked – probably made by the Torquay Terracotta Co in Devon, who copied/acquired some the Dr Christopher Dresser patterns after Linthorpe Pottery closed.

Seen attributed to both Ault and Bretby.

7.5cm diameter

Marks –
Unmarked

Condition –
No chips, cracks or restorations.
One has a pin hole in the glaze under the top rim – as made, not damage.
