AESTHETIC Movement Art Pottery Vases

These are a pair of British Art Pottery vase decorated with crimson glazed tops and mottled multi-coloured running glazes.

Dating c1880-1890

Although unmarked – probably made by the Torquay Terracotta Co in Devon, who copied/acquired some the Dr Christopher Dresser patterns after Linthorpe Pottery closed.

Seen attributed to both Ault and Bretby.

7.5cm diameter

Marks –
Unmarked

Condition –
No chips, cracks or restorations.
One has a pin hole in the glaze under the top rim – as made, not damage.

Bourne Denby BYNGO Dog 17cm Size 3

A charming novelty stoneware figure of a seated French Bulldog called Byngo.

Made by Bourne Denby in the 1930s as part of their Danesby Ware range of art pottery.

This version is 17cm (size 3) high and decorated in a shiney brown glaze with hand painted eyes, mouth and collar. It is the second largest made.

Printed makers marks on the underside.
