Arts & Crafts Brass Tray c1900 – stock #7718
An impressive arts and crafts design brass tray with a pie crust scallop edge rim and decorated with a repousse pattern of flowers and leaves. Very finely executed by a skilled artisan. No makers marks found.
Research suggest that this tray was made in Ireland and executed by The Fivemiletown Class. This enterprise was established in 1892 by Mary Montgomery of Blessingbourne. The designers included; Mary’s husband Hugh de Fellenberg Montgomery and John Williams (Guild of Handicraft).
