A finely made vintage studio potter, vase or brush pot, made at the Yelland Pottery in North Devon.
This pottery was established c1955 by Michael Leach (1913-1985) after working for his father Bernard Leach at St Ives and with Agnete Hoy. He worked there until his retirement in 1984.
This piece is marked with the studio “Y” seal without any personal signatures.

A charming novelty stoneware figure of a seated French Bulldog called Byngo.
Made by Bourne Denby in the 1930s as part of their Danesby Ware range of art pottery.
This version is 17cm (size 3) high and decorated in a shiney brown glaze with hand painted eyes, mouth and collar. It is the second largest made.
