Peter Arnold ALDERNEY POTTERY – TWO Bowls Incised Animals – No1

These are two hand made studio pottery bowls by Peter Arnold (d2013) at the Alderney Pottery which he had established in the early 1960s c1961/2.

They were hand thrown with a glazed interior and the outside is unusally decorated with incised beasts. One may be a boar and the other a flying fish. Thre is some thing prehistoric about them.

Impressed mark on the foot rim.

MARTIN HOMER Studio Pottery TEAPOT

A finely made fancy teapot by the British studio potter, Martin Homer or Tenby Wells.

This example has a pierced top and foot rim and decorated with applied “sprigged” motifs of animals. Includes Goose, Bee, Butterfly and Hare.

Mainly blue glazed and a biscuit coloured pattern.

GUSTAVSBERG Pottery

These are two pieces of Scandinavian art deco period pottery by Gustavsberg Sweden.

Includes; a vase with lobed form on a square base decorated with a mottled green glaze and gold top and lower rims. Together with an octagonal shallow dish decorated with the same mottled green glaze and small gold flowers.

Both designed by Josef Ekberg (1877-1945) and signed with a monogram on the underside.

Size –
Vase – 14.5cm high and 6.5cm wide
Dish – 11cm wide and 3cm high

Marks –
On the underside.
Printed “Gustavsberg” over an Anchor
Gold JE monogram and pattern number.

Condition –
NO chips, cracks or restorations.
Wear to the gold on the top edge and inside the vase. Also on the corners of the base.

LYNGBY Porcelain VASE Denmark

A finely made and decorated Scandinavian design vase by Lyngby Porcelain in Denmark.

Decorated with a hand painted stylised pattern of Berries and Leaves in grey and red over a grey crackle glaze. Some gold highlights.

Printed and painted makers marks on the underside.

These are two vintage studio pottery soup or chocolate cups with lids decorated with a rich brown glaze on a mottled stoneware pottery.

Impressed on the underside with the WP monogram of the Winchcombe Pottery.

Associated with potters, Ray Finch, Michael Cardew, Sidney and Charles Tustin. No personal seals on these pieces.

Mid Century Glass Vase – Czech Bohemian

A good mid century modern design art glass vase with an organic wavy shape. It has a citrine yellow within clear colourway.

Although unmarked it is most likely from Bohemia Czech.

Possibly by Miloslav Klinger (1922-99) for Zelezny Brod glass.
