A good looking early Isle of Wight studio glass vase designed by Michael Harris. It has a slender cylinder form with a marble cloud like blue to tortoiseshell colourway in streaky blues and tan colours with an oily surface sheen.

Impressed flame mark on the pontil to indicate a date of c1975.

Charlotte Rhead – Bursley Ware Peony Vase – Pattern No TL43 – stock #30018

An delightful original art deco period vase designed by Charlotte Rhead for Bursley Ware and dating to c1950. It is decorated with a tubeline pattern titled “Peony” which has a tubeline pattern of wind swept peony flowers and leaves in blue tones with a mottled cream background.

Printed marks on the back; “Bursley Ware Charlotte Rhead England” together with pattern number TL43. Similar pattern illustrated in “Collecting Rhead Pottery” by Bernard Bumpus in Plate 104 on Page 72.

Skrdlovice Glass – Petr Hora – stock #29218

An attractive mid century mordern design art glass vase made by the Czech firm, Skrdlovice / Beranek and dating to the early 1980s. This pattern was designed by Petr Hora (b1949) in 1983 with the range cylindrical and spherical vases and low bowl. Other colours include, green and amber with constrasting patterns.

It has an inner blue core, cased in a thin layer of topaz glass and then a thick layer of clear glass. It has internal white and pink web decoration and bubbles. Understood to be pattern no 8316/22

A gorgeous original Charlotte Rhead design art deco pattern art pottery large jug made by Bursley Ware. Decorated with a multi coloured tubeline pattern of flowers within cubist borders. Mainly in a burnt orange colours with yellow, orange and blue flowers. It has a lustre sheen to the glazes. Some of the colour are a little thin, especially the yellow and mauve – see pictures.

IONA Celtic Cross by Dawson Bowman – stock #9518

A fine looking silver plated Celtic design cross mounted a marble base – either as an ornament or paperweight. Known as Mackinnons cross, an 8th century cross in the Iona Abbey Museum. Marked on the side DB & Scotland.

Made by Hamish Dawson Bowman from the original moulds by Alexander Ritchie of Iona Celtic Art. After Ritchie’s death the moulds were passed to Hannah MacCormick and then used by Dawson Bowman. This is a silver plated version mounted on either Iona or Connemara.

Crown Ducal Charlotte Rhead – Signed Autumn Leaves Ewer c1935 – stock #75317

A super original pottery jug made by the British firm, Crown Ducal and dating to the mid 1930’s. It has a squat shape with single split handle and no spout. It is decorated with a tubelined pattern known as Autumn Leaves or Falling Leaves designed by Charlotte Rhead. It has orange/brown leaves on a pale yellow/tan back ground with chequer pattern top rim.

Fully marked on the underside with Factory marks, designers signature and pattern number.
