Arts & Crafts Brass Tray c1900 – stock #7718

An impressive arts and crafts design brass tray with a pie crust scallop edge rim and decorated with a repousse pattern of flowers and leaves. Very finely executed by a skilled artisan. No makers marks found.

Research suggest that this tray was made in Ireland and executed by The Fivemiletown Class. This enterprise was established in 1892 by Mary Montgomery of Blessingbourne. The designers included; Mary’s husband Hugh de Fellenberg Montgomery and John Williams (Guild of Handicraft).

DENBY Pottery Burlington Vase

Bourne DENBY Pottery Burlington Vase c1959 – stock #9318

An impressive original Bourne Denby art pottery vase decorated with an incised and painted vase. It has a tall cylinder form with horizontal incised ridges and is hand painted with mauve at the top then green and tan at the bottom. In addition there a trailed raised vertical lines alternating in white and black.

Mostly likely from the Burlington range of decorative art wares designed by Albert Colledge c1959. Usually seen in arather un-attractive black abd white version. This scarcer version in “multi coloured pastels” is mentioned on page 68 of “Denby Pottery 1809-1997” by Irene Hopwood. It is shape number BN831 and had a list price of 22/6 when new in 1959.

An impressive original bourne Denby art pottery vase decorated with an eastern inspired iznik pattern in golden browns and tan colours.

From the Minaret range of decorative art wares designed by David Yorath c1970. This example is signed “SB” on the underside by the artist. It is shape number 802 and had a list price of £5.30 when new in 1970.

ORIVIT Pewter – Art Nouveau Basket

ORIVIT Pewter – Art Nouveau Silver Plated Basket – stock #8118

A super looking original art nouveau Britannia Metal Bonbon basket with an art nouveau design and made by the German firm, Orivit c1905. It has a bowl with wavy rim decorated with moulded designs of flowers with swirrling tendrils into the well of the bowl. There is a sinuous whiplash handle.

This example has most of it’s original silver plate with some wear and tarnish pewter in the well of the bowl. Stamped marks on the underside. I expect that this will appeal to collectors of art nouveau, jugendstil and seccessionist design.

A super original pottery jug made by the British firm, Myott Son & Co and dating to the mid 1930’s. It has a modern shape with angular handle and spout and decorated with a hand painted orange, yellow, black and brown banded pattern with a honeyglaze interior.
