An old or antique item of treen woodware.

A Norwegian Tine box or may be a Swedish Svepask box made with a bentwood shell sawn together with strands of wood. A flat plank lid that is held in place by two posts. The lid originally had a loop handle which is now missing.

The outside of the box and lid is naively carved.

No makers marks or dates.

Age unknown.

Size –
9.5cm high to top of box.
13cm high to top of posts.
17.5cm by 11cm base

Marks –
No makers marks

Condition –
Missing the loop handle on the lid.
Split inside where the sewn section is.
Rim of the box has chips and missing knot – all historical and well aged.
General wear and patina.
