A larger than usual piece of Devon Ware pottery jardiniere decorated in typical fashion withslip painted stylised foliage under a glossy clear glaze. Made from a coarse mottled terracotta earthenware.
This example was created by Hart and Moist of Exeter at the Exeter Art Pottery and would date to the early part of the 20th century. The impressed mark on the underside was in use from c1896.
