Hartley Wood – Glass Vase – stock #4213

Here I offer a mid 20th century art glass vase attributed to the glass studio at Hartley Wood. I has a clear glass body with layers of swirling colour. Slightly wonky shape with an uneven top rim and rough pontil. Some wear to the foot rim confirms some age.

Hartley Wood & Co were a Sunderland based glass manufacture established c1895 by James Hartley and Alfred Wood. In addition to making plate glass they created a range of art glass known as “Antique Glass”.
