Ceres – A Morlon – stock #7313

This is a fine art deco design bronze medal by Alexandre Morlon (1878-1951) of a young maiden holding an ear of wheat. I assume it represent a goddess of the harvest; either Ceres or Demeter.

Flandre – Bronze Medal – stock #4013

A fine quality French bronze medal designed by the artist Marcel Renard (1893-1974). Decorated with a design of young lady in traditional regional costume and on the reverse a picture of the the Passenger Liner “Flandre”

The Flandre was launched in 1951 with her maiden voyage in 1952. This medal dates from the mid 1950′s.

Football – Art Deco Bronze – stock #1513

A finely minted art deco style French bronze medal in it’s original red leatherette presentation case. This one dates to c1950. The footballer was design by Frederic Focht (b1879) whilst the reverse was design by Alexandre Morlon (1878-1951).

A French bronze medal designed by Adolphe Rivet (b1855) titled “La Musique” and awarded as a prize medal in 1978. Although the dies were created in c1900 this medal continued to be awarded in to the late 20thC.

A finely minted art deco designed bronze medal by the French art Marcel Renard (1893-1974) of a young maiden undressing. This medal is entitled  ”La Seine Fleuve” and signed Marcel Renard 1936. The reverse has been engraved MG Foucher 1950.

The edge is marked “bronze” and with the cornucopia for the “Monnaie de Paris”

A detailed French bronze medal signed “A Desaide Edit” and dated 1914.The design incorporates a young maiden exhausted from working the fields being awarded a laurel wreath by a cherub !!

Marked on the reverse side “Concours Agricole Departmantal Chalon-Sur-Saone 1914″. Stamped on the edge with mint marks and housed in it’s original presentation case.
