A good, slightly larger than usual sized, arts and crafts design copper vase made at the KSIA c1900. It is decorated with a stylised foliate pattern within arched borders. Fully stamped on the underside.

Good condition, but not perfect. Some indents on the foot rim and there is a tiny “nick” in the top rim. Still it is better than most and looks great.

Dryad Metal Works – Copper Jug – stock #25012

A fine example of arts and crafts metal work from the Dryad Metal Works. This is shape number 385; an unusual form as jugs and ewer are rarely seen although the bowls are relatively common. Their designer was William H Pick, who almost certainly designed this example.

The copper body and lid are finely spun with a clever cast brass hinge/handle that is both a lever and stop for the lid. The handle has it’s original cane insulation, another specialty of the Dryad Workshops.
