A fine post war design art pottery teapot by the Brigln Pottery dating to c1970 decorated with light brown glaze with a wax resist daisy pattern. Nicely thrown and decorated – with odd looking spout that seems to be for a right handed pour !! Apparently a specially designed non-drop spout.

Impressed “Briglin” on the footrim together with an impressed signature potters seal EL ?

Transjö Hytta – Studio Glass Vase Dated 1983 – stock #67916

A super quality studio art glass vase/sculpture by Transjö Hytta from Sweden. It has an ovoid shape with an hour glass shaped purple coloured centre surround by a halo air bubble all within a clear glass outer layer. Fully signed on the underside and dated “83” making this a very early example of the studio’s work.

The Transjö Hytta glass studio was established in 1982 by two ex-Kosta Glass glassmakers; Jan-Erik Ritzman and Sven-Åke Carlsson.

An impressive mid century modern design studio pottery centre piece bowl by Hastings Pottery of Dennis Lucas.

It has a triangular shape and decorated with an incised and painted design in blue and black on a white glaze. Mostly likely dating to the late 1960s – early 1970s. Incised double fish mark on the underside.

Sibley Pottery Vase

Sibley Pottery Vase – stock #51716

A good sized example of the art pottery from the Sibley Pottery. This example is a squat form vase 14cm high, heavily thrown and decorated with a gloss turquoise glaze.

Marked on the underside with an incised “sibley” together with a stick like AK symbol for the potter Amy Krause.

There is some variations about the history of The Sibley Pottery but the best suggestions that it was established by Rachel Bennett in c1920-1922 near Wareham in Dorset and ran until 1939. Another potter working there is listed as Amy Krause. The pottery premise was them used by Branksome Pottery from 1945 until about 1959.
