Bourne DENBY Pottery Burlington Cache Pot c1959 – stock #16318
An original Bourne Denby art pottery cache pot / flower pot, decorated with an incised and painted vase. It has a flower pot form with horizontal incised ridges and is hand painted with mauve at the top then green and tan at the bottom. In addition there a trailed raised vertical lines alternating in white and black.
Mostly likely from the Burlington range of decorative art wares designed by Albert Colledge c1959. Usually seen in a rather un-attractive black and white version. This scarcer version in “multi coloured pastels” is mentioned on page 68 of “Denby Pottery 1809-1997” by Irene Hopwood.
