Poole Pottery Freeform Vase – stock #25518

A lovely Poole Pottery vase decorated with a modernist “contemporary” pattern in black and white on a pale chestnut coloured back ground. The “Freeform” shaped was designed by Alfred Read and Guy Sydenham and numbered 692.

This pattern is “PR.B”, designed by Alfred Read and dates to the mid 1950’s.

WMF Ikora Glass – Large Vase – stock #25018

An impressive art deco design WMF Ikora Kristal vase decorated with a marble multi toned red pattern with randon bubble inclusions. This vase is mostly likely shape number 8111 and is illustrated in the 1951 sales catalogue.

Thw WMF Ikora Kristal range was developed in the mid 1920 by Karl Weidmann and continued to be produced until the early 1950’s. This example most likely has a post war date of production but could easily be from the 1930’s.

A mid 20th century Holmegaard Gulvvase in a white within clear colourway. This example is 25.5cm high and a little over 9cm in diameter. I understand that this is the smallest of 5 sizes.

Made by Holmegaard Glass, Denmark and designed by Otto Brauer in 1962.

Arts & Crafts Brass Tray c1900 – stock #7718

An impressive arts and crafts design brass tray with a pie crust scallop edge rim and decorated with a repousse pattern of flowers and leaves. Very finely executed by a skilled artisan. No makers marks found.

Research suggest that this tray was made in Ireland and executed by The Fivemiletown Class. This enterprise was established in 1892 by Mary Montgomery of Blessingbourne. The designers included; Mary’s husband Hugh de Fellenberg Montgomery and John Williams (Guild of Handicraft).

A fine quality original Dahl Jensen Craquelé pattern vase decorated with a hand painted design of stylised “Egyptianesque” flowers and leaves above a below a cobalt blue band.

Printed factory mark on the underside together with pattern/shape number 195/734k and signed AE. This printed mark was in use for a long time and difficult to date.

Stromberg Glass – Fish Vase

Strömbergshyttan Glass – Fish Vase – stock #54917

An impressive Stromberghyttan art glass decorated with a wheel cut designed of Angel fish swimming amongst seaweed. It has a thick walled tapering square form shape and with polished top rim. It is very heavy.

Etched marks on the underside of “Stromberg B102 C407”. This suggest that the pattern was designed in the mid 1930’s and most likely by Gerda Strömberg. This example is most likelt dating to the mid 1950’s.

Charlotte Rhead – Bursley Peony Vase

Charlotte Rhead – Bursley Ware Peony Vase – Pattern No TL43 – stock #37117

An impressive large size original art deco period vase designed by Charlotte Rhead for Bursley Ware and dating to c1950. It is decorated with a tubeline pattern titled “Peony” which has a tubeline pattern of wind swept peony flowers and leaves in blue tones with a mottled cream background.

Printed marks on the back; “Bursley Ware Charlotte Rhead England” together with pattern number TL43. Similar pattern illustrated in “Collecting Rhead Pottery” by Bernard Bumpus in Plate 104 on Page 72.

An original art deco period art pottery wall plaque designed by Charlotte Rhead and made by Crown Ducal. It is decorated with the “Caliph” pattern with blue, yellow and pink flowers within foliage.

A large and impressive original art deco period art pottery vase designed by Charlotte Rhead and made by Crown Ducal. It is decorated with the “Perian Rose” pattern of blue, yellow and pink roses within foliage. This is vase shape 209.

Printed marks on the back “Crown Ducal Made in England” together with signature “C Rhead” & pattern number 4040. Similar pattern illustrated in “Collecting Rhead Pottery” by Bernard Bumpus in Plate 97 on Page 69.
