ORIVIT Pewter – Art Nouveau Silver Plated Basket – stock #8118

A super looking original art nouveau Britannia Metal Bonbon basket with an art nouveau design and made by the German firm, Orivit c1905. It has a bowl with wavy rim decorated with moulded designs of flowers with swirrling tendrils into the well of the bowl. There is a sinuous whiplash handle.

This example has most of it’s original silver plate with some wear and tarnish pewter in the well of the bowl. Stamped marks on the underside. I expect that this will appeal to collectors of art nouveau, jugendstil and seccessionist design.

DOULTON LAMBETH – Stoneware TEAPOT with Silver Rim c1899 – stock #67817

A delightful small original late Victorian Doulton Lambeth stoneware teapot decorated with a tubelined design of blue flowers with brown leaves surrounded by tiny blue flowers on a Slaters Patent lace textured background. It has brown handle, knob and spout. The spout is decorated with some tubelined pattern and the top rim has a green band below a hall marked silver rim.

Silver rim is hallmarked with an Anchor for Birmingham and “Z” for 1899. A multitude of impressed and incised marks on the underside.

STATIONERY BOX – Art Nouveau Design – Brass Wood Lined – stock #62117

An attractive original art nouveau period and style stationery casket decorated designed landscape cartouches surrounded by sinuous patterns of fir cones and mistletoe. Made in brass with wood lining. Originally silver plated with some areas of silvering. Most like dating to c1905/15 and made in Germany. There is a tiny stamped mark on the underside which could be an “M”.

WMF Pewter INKWELL No120K c1914 – stock #47617

A stylish early 20th century pewter inkwell by the German maker WMF and dating to c1914. It has an art nouveau jugendstil design decoratde with a repeating square motif on the pen tray and lid with entwinned knot patterns on the corners.

Marked on the underside with a shape number 120K and marked on the back “WEPCO EP OX”. This mark was used by WMF in c1914 for items exported to English speaking countries. Presented as bright polished pewter with hints of the original silver plating.

A fine looking Loetz art glass vase dating to the c1900 with a tall onion shaped form with wide flat frilled top rim. Similar to the shapes designed for Max Emanuel, London and attributed to the designer, Dr Christopher Dresser. It has a pale blue glass with luminous and translucent spot green “Diana” spotted ground with matte iridescence coloured top rim. From a range of art glass called Diana Ozone Ciselé that was in production from c1899.

Unmarked – Hollow ground and polished pontil on the underside.

A fine looking Loetz art glass vase dating to the c1900 with a simple cup shaped form with turn over top rim. It has a very pale green, luminous and translucent ground with matte iridescence colour. From a range of art glass called Olympia Glatt that was in production from c1896.

A pair of stylish and original early 20th century silver plated pewter wall plates or calling card trays decorated with the head and torso of classical Grecian Lady and Gent – rendered in the German jugendstil / art nouveau style.

Made by the famed German firm, WMF and dating to c1905. Although no makers mark has been found, they are illustrated in the 1905 WMF metalware catalogue.
