A Scottish arts and crafts wooden casket decorated with a chip carved and poker work design of Briar Roses and Rose Hip in the art nouveau style. Some of the original colour survive but not with gorgeoud muted tones. Period velvet lined interior.

Marked on the underside “Made in Scotland”. Artist is not named.

Ruskin Pottery – Ginger Jar Dated 1913 – stock #43718

A early 20th century art pottery miniature ginger jar from the Ruskin Pottery dated 1913. This example is decorated with a hand painted garland of flowers and leaves under a yellow lustre glaze. Unusually, this pot still has it’s original factory paper label.

Impressed marks on the underside “Ruskin” & “1913” together with the label.

Glasgow School Brass Tray

Glasgow School Brass Tray – Attr Margaret Gilmour – stock #31818

An early 20th century arts and crafts Glasgow School influence brass tray decorated with a repousse pattern of stylised Pomegranates and leaves in two panels. A quality tray with a neatly made construction c1905.

This example is unsiged but similat to examples attributed to the Glasgow School artist, Margaret Gilmour (1863-1942). Also similar to the trays used by the artist Marion Henderson Wilson (1869-1956).
