WMF Pewter INKWELL No120K c1914 – stock #47617

A stylish early 20th century pewter inkwell by the German maker WMF and dating to c1914. It has an art nouveau jugendstil design decoratde with a repeating square motif on the pen tray and lid with entwinned knot patterns on the corners.

Marked on the underside with a shape number 120K and marked on the back “WEPCO EP OX”. This mark was used by WMF in c1914 for items exported to English speaking countries. Presented as bright polished pewter with hints of the original silver plating.

A fine looking Loetz art glass vase dating to the c1900 with a tall onion shaped form with wide flat frilled top rim. Similar to the shapes designed for Max Emanuel, London and attributed to the designer, Dr Christopher Dresser. It has a pale blue glass with luminous and translucent spot green “Diana” spotted ground with matte iridescence coloured top rim. From a range of art glass called Diana Ozone Ciselé that was in production from c1899.

Unmarked – Hollow ground and polished pontil on the underside.

A fine looking Loetz art glass vase dating to the c1900 with a simple cup shaped form with turn over top rim. It has a very pale green, luminous and translucent ground with matte iridescence colour. From a range of art glass called Olympia Glatt that was in production from c1896.

A pair of stylish and original early 20th century silver plated pewter wall plates or calling card trays decorated with the head and torso of classical Grecian Lady and Gent – rendered in the German jugendstil / art nouveau style.

Made by the famed German firm, WMF and dating to c1905. Although no makers mark has been found, they are illustrated in the 1905 WMF metalware catalogue.

A super pair of early Royal Doulton Geo Moreland seriesware plates dating to 1902 decorated with illustrations of a lady riding with a pack of hounds together with it’s companian of a gentleman hunter riding with a pack of hounds.

Printed and impressed makers marks on the backs. Impressed date marks for 1902. Excellent condition for age. A few tiny firing glaze faults on the rims and wear to the rim gilding.

METTLACH – Stoneware STEIN

METTLACH – Stoneware Beer STEIN – stock #38917

An outstanding original German stoneware beer stein tandard with a pewter lid made by Mettlach Germany. It is decorated with an incised or engraved design of a family following a servant who is carrying a tray with a Hog Roast on it. Many of the figures are holding stains and tankards.

Enscribed – Bratenduft und Wurzig Bier Locket Alt und Iungherfur. Impressed 1/2L for half litre size. Impressed marks on the underside.

A super quality Austrian Secession period figurine of a distinguished lady modelled by Hugo Kirsch and produced at his factory in Vienna, the “Wiener Porzellan” and dating to c1910.

It has fine modelling and is hand painted in mottled blues with gilt headress.
