Bullers Ltd – Bowl by Agnete Hoy – stock #21818

A fine quality porcelain studio pottery bowl by Bullers of Stoke on Trent designed and decorated by Agnete Hoy (1914-2000).

A finely potted shallow bowl shape made a thick porcelain decorated with brown abstract pattern on a satin pale olive coloured glaze. Signed on the underside with AH monogram and numbered 272. Most likely dating to the mid 1940’s.

Myott Son & Co – Art Deco ITR Pattern Jug – stock #21518

A striking original art deco pattern jug by Myott Son & Co pottery dating to the later part of the 1930’s. Decorated with a hand painted pattern with a repeating “ITR” motif within brown and orange bands with black top band and handle. Pattern number 8387.

An original Powell Whitefriars Glass vase in a green colourwau with a controlled bubble pattern standing on a lobed foot rim. Illustrated as pattern number 9354 in the 1949 Whitefriars sales catalogue.

A gorgeous original Charlotte Rhead design art deco pattern art pottery large jug made by Bursley Ware. Decorated with a multi coloured tubeline pattern of flowers within cubist borders. Mainly in a burnt orange colours with yellow, orange and blue flowers. It has a lustre sheen to the glazes. Some of the colour are a little thin, especially the yellow and mauve – see pictures.

A pair of Bourne Denby Danesby Ware “electric Blue” glazed cache pots dating to the mid 1930’s. This shape is known as “Grattan”.

Unusual marks on the underside – “Rainbow Pottery Co Lindfield”. Made for or retailed by this firm. I have seen other makes with this retailers mark.

A super mid 20th century art pottery figure titled “Robin Hood” with the legensary character seated wearing green tunic over chain mail and with his long bow and quiver. Titled on the front of the plinth. He has a slightly gloomy expression – presumeably his merry meen couldn’t cheer him up ?

No signatures or maker marks found. Assumed to be English and as it was cast, one of a number made.
