A mid 1970’s Czech art glass vase by Prachen Glass from the “Flora” range designed by Frantisek Koudelka in 1973. This example is the scarer largest size with a pale sky blue over mottled white colour within clear glass.

Unmarked – hollow ground pontil on the underside. For similar see page 65 of “SKLO Czech Glass Design from the 1950s-70s” by Mark Hill.

A striking mid century design glass model of a seated cat. It has a blue grey body with purple inner, tail and eyes and with a red nose.  Attributed with the Murano glassmaker Cenedese and designed by Antonio De Ros (b1936). These cats can be found in various colours and positions, some seated, others as bookends.

Unsigned. Which for Cenedese suggests an earlier date.

WMF Ikora Glass – Large Vase

WMF Ikora Glass – Large Vase – stock #25018

An impressive art deco design WMF Ikora Kristal vase decorated with a marble multi toned red pattern with randon bubble inclusions. This vase is mostly likely shape number 8111 and is illustrated in the 1951 sales catalogue.

Thw WMF Ikora Kristal range was developed in the mid 1920 by Karl Weidmann and continued to be produced until the early 1950’s. This example most likely has a post war date of production but could easily be from the 1930’s.

A good looking early Isle of Wight studio glass vase designed by Michael Harris. It has a slender cylinder form with a tortoiseshell colourway in streaky browns and tan colours.

Impressed flame mark on the pontil to indicate a date of c1975.

Stromberg Glass – Fish Vase

Strömbergshyttan Glass – Fish Vase – stock #54917

An impressive Stromberghyttan art glass decorated with a wheel cut designed of Angel fish swimming amongst seaweed. It has a thick walled tapering square form shape and with polished top rim. It is very heavy.

Etched marks on the underside of “Stromberg B102 C407”. This suggest that the pattern was designed in the mid 1930’s and most likely by Gerda Strömberg. This example is most likelt dating to the mid 1950’s.

Hartley Wood Glass Vase – stock #10617

A fine art deco streaky veined swirrling art glass vase dating to the mid 1930’s from the “Antique Glass” range of art wears. This is an excellent example being 24.5cm high.

The Wear Glass Works was established in Sunderland c1837 and trading as Hartley Wood and Co Ltd from 1895. The company was sold to Pilkington’s in 1983 and finally closed in 1989.
