Allan Gairdner Wyon
(1882 - 1962)

 

He was a sculptor and medallist. He was born into a family of artist and trained at the Royal Academy schools. He was descended from a family who came over from Germany with George 1. Married to the artist Eileen M Wyon. He lived in London until 1936 when he moved to Saltash Cornwall, later to Penzance and Newlyn, where he was a Vicar. Some of his work are in Newlyn Parish Church.

He was an Associate of the Royal Miniature Society in 1921 and member from 1922.

Exhibited widely, including;

Walker Gallery, Liverpool - 21
Royal Academy - 45
Royal Hibernian Academy - 1
Royal Miniature Society - 26
Royal Scottish Academy - 18

 

A number of his designs were produced by the Ashtead Potters Ltd. Including, the "Corn Girl" model M72.
