Phoebe
Stabler
(Sept 1879 - 1955)
She was a sculptor. She studied at
Liverpool University and Royal College of Arts. Married to the artist designer
Harold Stabler. She was an associate of the Royal
Miniature Society in 1911 and a member from 1913. Member of the Society of Women
Artists from 1922.
She exhibited from 1908, including;

London working in a wide range of material including pottery, silver and lead.
Her designs were produced in ceramic by Royal Doulton, Royal Worcester, Poole
Pottery and Ashtead Potters Ltd.
There are example of some designs being produced by more than one firm. The
figure of a young girl sitting on a pedestal titled "SHY" was produced in
pottery by Poole and Ashtead and a lead sculpture of the same by the Bromsgrove
Guild. "Buster Boy" and "Buster Girl" were produced by both Poole and Ashtead.
