Paul Nash (1889 - 1981)
He was a respected painter and important war artist who also designed some
patterns for ceramics (Foley & Wilkinson) and glass (Stuart Glass).
Wilfred Norton
(1880-1973)
He was an artist, potter, sculptor and
designer born in Oakengates, Shropshire. He was an apprentice at the Coalport
Porcelain Co from the age of 13 and worked for them as a designer later in his
career. He studied at the Royal College of Art up to 1921 and in Switzerland
under Rodulf Steiner. He also taught figure drawing at Camberwell School of Art.
He was married to Lily Norton with whom
he worked producing studio and figural pottery at their Kerma Studio in
Hampstead London. His figures are in the collections of the Victoria & Albert
Museum and the University of Wales'
collections.
He exhibited at the
Royal Academy 7 times and at the Glasgow institute of Fine Art once.
