Dame Laura Knight (1877 - 1970)

she was a painter and designer specialising in circus, fairground and theatre subject. She was born in Derbyshire and trained at the Nottingham School of Art. She exhihibted extensively including at the Royal Academy.

She designed ceramics for E Brain (Foley), AJ Wilkinson (Clarice Cliff) and designed the 1936 Coronation mug.

Jessie Marion King (1876 - 1949)

She was a graphic artist and designer who decorated pottery, textiles and made jewellery. Pottery is marked with a rabbit and gate.
