This pottery has been owned and run by the
Jenkins family since c1820 making domestic and decorative wares from the local
red clay. Usually marked with an incised "Ewenny" sometimes with a date and
decorators signature.
Associated with the London based designer and
retailer Horace Elliott.
Continues today.
Claypits Pottery
was owned by the Williams family until 1884 after
which passing by marriage to Evan Jones. With William Jenkins managing from 1907
and owning it from 1912. Then passing to Thomas Jenkins until 1972.
Marked variously either with incised or
impressed.

Based at a brick and tile yard owned by William
Doel. Himself a former Doulton Lambeth employee. Run by Selina Jenkins from
1895. Ware stocked by London retailer Horace Elliiott.
