Horace Elliott
born 1851 - ?
He was a designer, decorator and retailer of art
pottery from London based shops located variously in Bayswater, Westminster,
Chelsea and Streatham Hill. He regularly exhibited at the Arts and Crafts
Exhibition and is known to have designed for or commissioned items from Ewenny
Pottery, Bourne Denby and C H Brannam.
He is known to have visited the Ewenny area from
1880, stocking the wares of the Doel and Ewenny potteries. Later being a regular
visitor, living and working there including a 6 month period in 1908.
Items have an impressed Fleur De Lys, this being
his registered trade mark.
