Formed in 1871 as a manufacturer of floor and wall tiles,
they were often commissioned by architects to produce interior tile designs for
the many Gothic Revival churches built in the late 19th century, including Shrewsbury,s Roman Catholic Cathredral.
The vast majority of items produced were tiles of all
shapes, sizes, decoration and patterns.
It is known that they produced "art pottery" in the late
19th and early 20th century often with red or yellow lustre glazed decoration.
