PRESTON GUILD MERCHANT – Commemorative Mug – stock #39219

An interesting piece of social history relating to Preston in Lancashire. We are offering a bone china mug dated 1922 made to commemorate the Preston Guild Merchant being granted a Royal Charter by Henry II in 1180 !! It has pictuers of Mr Astley-Bell JP and Mrs Astley-Bell JP either side of a coat of arms and within a foliate garland. On the back is “1180-1922” within a foliate garland.

NO makers marks. Excellent. NO chips, cracks or restorations.
Tiny wear to gold top rim.
Tiny wear to a a leave on under mr Astley-Bell.
Vintage item with some but minimal evidence of use.
