IONA Celtic Cross by Dawson Bowman – stock #9518

A fine looking silver plated Celtic design cross mounted a marble base – either as an ornament or paperweight. Known as Mackinnons cross, an 8th century cross in the Iona Abbey Museum. Marked on the side DB & Scotland.

Made by Hamish Dawson Bowman from the original moulds by Alexander Ritchie of Iona Celtic Art. After Ritchie’s death the moulds were passed to Hannah MacCormick and then used by Dawson Bowman. This is a silver plated version mounted on either Iona or Connemara.

13cm high inc mount
5cm wide
marked DB and Scotland. Plating is excellent.
It leans slightly.
Slight wear to corner of the marble base.
